Swissphone RE629 voice Fire Pager _VHF |
|
Ideal for use in all alarm and emergency turn-out networks. Thanks to its user profiles, the RE629 voice can be adapted at any time to fit changing assignments. The stopwatch and alarm timer provide additional support for scheduling a response.
Stopwatch and alarm timer
Once an alarm has been received, the stopwatch starts running in the display until acknowledged. You can thus tell the urgency of the current alarm at a glance. While retrieving alarms and messages, the display alternates between the address and alarm time.
The advantage for you: The RE629 is a useful aid when reviewing assignments. It gives you an overview of which addresses received alarms and when. |

| Batteries |
| It uses AA batteries. Either standard alkaline, Ni-cad, or NiMH. |
| Battery Status Indicator - Shows the level of the battery by a bar graph. As the battery is used the indicator goes down, so you always know how long your battery will last. Once less than 10% of the battery life remains the pager begins a reminder chirp and flashes the battery indicator. |
| Switch on/off |
| When a battery is inserted the pager will automatically turn on. To turn the pager on/off manually both buttons must be held down for about 4 seconds. When turning off, the pager begins a audible beeping countdown (about 4 seconds), with a loud unique chirp as the pager shuts off. This prevents accidental shut down of the pager. |
| Keys |
| The pager has two keys located on the top corners of the housing. The keys are designed in such a way that it's easy to push them wearing gloves but hard to accidentally push them during normal handling of the pagers. |
| Alerts |
| The pager can hold 16 alert addresses. Each address can be programmed to sound different, so there can be no confusion as to which alert was sent. This also can work in conjunction with the display indicator to further indicate who the alert was for (see below). |
Display |
The LCD display has many uses:
- The symbols across the top show the current mode of operation: Alert - MiniBeep - Vibrate. In addition it shows if your in monitor mode or in non-monitor.
- Along the right side there are arrows that point to a removable menu that you can customize (Example: if the Chiefs tone is alerted the 1st arrow will turn on pointing to the "Chief". Or for example if the ambulance is alerted then the 3rd arrow points to "Ambulance" or whatever you write on the menu)
- At the bottom right there is a slanted bar that indicated the volume level. It has 4 levels.
- The "Envelope" symbol is used with Voice Storage, it indicates you have a message in memory.
- The "Y" antenna symbol indicated the field strength of the reception. If you go out of range the antenna symbol starts to flash. This only works on systems with cyclical transmission sensing.
- Illuminated background for night time operation
|
| Programming features |
In addition to the above the pagers can be programmed for an array of handy features. All of these are optional and are done with a PC programming kit.
- Can't turn off - no more "I forgot to turn on my pager" because the pager can't be turned off with this option
- Disable Vibrate - You only get audible alerts because the pager cannot be put into the vibrate mode. Recommendation - use this in conjunction with the "Can't turn off" feature above and you'll never hear another excuse for a missed call.
- Disable Volume control - alert on high all the time
- Vibrator disable while being charged - When being charged, the vibrator is disabled so the pager gives you a beeping alert. This also prevents the pager/charger from falling (buzzing/dancing as it alerts) off your desk when in vibrate mode.
- Disable monitor - for use in alert only paging systems
- Call suppression - Does not alert the pager if an duplicate alert is sent in a specified period of time
- Button Beep - every button that's pressed will be acknowledged with a small click (can be turned on or off)
- Timed reset - Overrides the squelch after a preset time, to place the pager in standby mode

| Chargers |
The pager has a smart charging system. The pager knows how much charge each battery type needs and adjusts the battery status indicator accordingly. Dry cells will be identified and will not be charged |
